ALGERIA CREATES A STATISTICS COMMITTEE TO ADAPT THE INFORMATION SYSTEM (SIEN) DEVELOPED BY OLADE

The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Algeria informed the Permanent Secretariat of OLADE about the creation of a Statistics Committee that will jointly work with experts of the Organization to implement and adapt the National Energy Information System (SIEN) in that country.

The committee was established through Ministerial Decision No 101 on July 25, 2007, which was promoted and promulgated by Chakib Khelil, Minister of Energy and Mines of Algeria. This committee will be made up of officials in charge of energy information systems and statistics of energy institutions and enterprises of Algeria, participating country of OLADE.

In this way, Algeria will have access to all the benefits offered by SIEN, computer program developed by OLADE, which allows storing and processing energy statistics at the national level and also useful to prepare energy balances and energy planning processes.
