In this analysis, two scenarios are considered: Low Energy Integration Scenario and High Energy Integration Scenario. This study covers a 15 year period. The base year is 2003, with milestone periods at 5year increments: 2008, 2013 2018.

The preparation of two energy scenarios (demand and supply) was carried out using the LEAP (Long-Range Energy Alternatives Planning System) model, which was developed by the Stockholm Environment Institute.

 Some of the results obtained with this study are presented in the Executive Summary.

This document attempts to contribute to the regional energy debate and in no way intends to show the position or vision of the Organization nor of its Member Countries.

The results are classified per country and per sub-region and may be used to prepare
rates and conduct several study types.

It is a useful tool to direct national and sub-regional energy policies to watch for the supply security. The information in this study is helpful to increase the knowledge about the energy situation in the Region and in each one of the Member Countries.
