The Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) has put at general public's disposal two publications regarding hydrocarbon sector in Central America. The first relates to the different types of contracts for hydrocarbons exploration and exploitation in the region and the second has to do with the methodologies used in each country to determine the price of major oil products, with a special section subsidy on the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

The aim of this document is to share the experiences of some OLADE's Member Countries in this topics. By 2010 it is planned to launch the second version of this document, this includes the experiences discovered in Central America and Mexico.

The Latin American Energy Organization- OLADE_ has since its inception in 1973, as one of its objectives: “ to promote the proper preservation of energy resources in the Region, through their rational use”, which joins the promotion of measures to prevent environmental pollution caused by the energy sector. On this basis, one of the strategic lines of the Organization is promoting energy efficiency in all its Member Countries.

It is a historical report that compiles statistical information of the country, region and world, which is obtained from official sources of information. It includes data about production, potential reserves, exports, imports, prices and consumption of different energy resources in each one of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Furthermore, it contains indicators of the economy, energy and emissions generation derived from the activities of this sector.  It includes data about future energy scenarios.

It is a section of specialized digital publications with a fast and direct access to compiled information and news on biofuels and energy efficiency in the Countries of the Region as well as information on projects, activities, events and products of the Organization.
